Goody gumdrops not long now before Mr Ho Ho Ho turns up! Merry Christmas to you all. Here I am with the lovely Kimberley Bowman in an Alpine Helicopter, about to land at the Kelvin Heights golf course to deliver presents to the Queenstown Rotary. I do love Christmas....may you enjoy this time out with friends and family. Make sure you take the odd photograph to remember the fun.

Wow! Queenstown hosted its very own Christmas show in the Events Centre last week. It was a hit. Hundreds of children and parents got a real feast of local and national talent. The wonderful Ben Lommis was awesome with Santa... a real scene stealer! Nice one Karen Gemmell for the Shotover Jet Remarkable Christmas Stadium Spectacular.
|
Another wicked event in the Gibbston Valley...the Peregrine Winery hosted local designers who strutted their stuff on the catwalk. It was a warmish night, full of excited Central Otago folk who love wine and fashion. Perfect combo I say. Here is a frock from Clair Brinsley's summer range... very lady like. Dog not included!!

November hosted the most extraordinary Michael Hill NZGolf Open at The Hills in Arrowtown. It was weather to die for, perfect in every way. The greens were mint at Michael's. Some say too hard and fast! Well in the ski racing world that's just how we like it.The Stephen Brent Team played like real troopers in the Pro-Am and Sir Bob made for an interesting speaker over lunch at the Skyline. If you are not up to much next November 08 get down here and soak up a week of great action in paradise.

The Stephen Brent Team looked terribly smart in their Out There Clothing (OTC). Thank you Lynn for dressing the boys, they felt great and played
well. Here they are about half way round with their Irish Professional Damion McGrane. Bring on the Michael Hill NZ Golf Open '08! ....we are ready for more.

Thanks to Tracey Roxburgh who nominated us for the Heart of the District (Environmental and Heritage section) Award. It was for our moving of Laurel Bank, and drum roll please....we received the award! It was a very proud moment to be at the Memorial Hall with other wonderful people, who are up to magical stuff...and to have the acknowledgement from local council was a treat. Thank you to all for your kind words of support.

Some of you will know that this has been the biggest year of my life. In Feb we (with the help of Kings) cut Laurel Bank into 3 pieces and transported her to our section. I then spent the next six months with my team of builders, plumbers, sparkys, friends and family, putting her back together again. She was in desperate need of lashings of love. As a young 115 year old the face lift was welcomed. As you can see from the picture she is smiling. Many thanks to all who have helped in the process...we are more than half way finished, keep up the good energy!

Yes in this incredible action packed year Steve and I got married in the snow. It was a wedding weekend with a twist. Our 90 guests had no idea where or when the moment would happen. No minute was wasted and we loved having all of our families together. Our 100+ friends gathered at a tea party on the Sunday. Girls if you get asked, say yes! It is fantastic to be a princess for a day or two.

As we wander through life (some of us faster that others) take the time to share moments with others. Take your camera and capture those momentsfor future generations. Our brains are designed to create not be a long term storage holder, so we can quickly forget some magic moments. When shown an image that memory can come floating back to bring a smile or a tear of thoughtfulness.
